Dell founds training center at Technological University Panama

(EFE Ingles Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Panama City, Apr 12 (EFE).- The Dell computer company inaugurated at the state Technological University of Panama, or UTP, a training center with an investment of over $30,000, for the purpose of promoting joint development of studies and research in the field of technology, the company said.

Dell said in a communique Friday that the training center is the product of an agreement signed five years ago with UTP, and forms part of the initiatives being developed by its global Information Technology Department.

The center will make it possible for Dell and the university to share experiences and information about research results and breakthroughs achieved by both parties, while maintaining consultation among technical specialists, scientists, professors and students about projects and programs, the company said.

It added that another benefit of the agreement signed with UTP is the possibility for students of that university to carry out practicums, internships and graduate work at Dell facilities.

The IT company recalled that it is already developing two graduate programs at UTP, and that this institute of higher learning has been the source for recruiting a number of company employees. EFE gf/cd (c) 2014 EFE News Services (U.S.) Inc.
