China Unicom Q1 Net Up More than 70%(Sinocast Telecommunications Beat (China) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) BEIJING, April 18, SinoCast -- China Unicom (Hong Kong) Ltd. (NYSE: CHU, SEHK: 0762, and SHSE: 600050) revealed operating revenue of CNY 78.817 billion in the first quarter of 2014, climbing 8.4% from a year earlier. Net profit attributable to shareholders reached CNY 1.098 billion, rising 73.7%. Basic EPS were CNY 0.0518. Prime operating revenue from mobile service was CNY 42 billion, hiking 15.6%; mobile users expanded 8.71 million to 298.693 million; and ARPU for mobile users hit CNY 47.6. Prime operating revenue from mobile broadband service reached CNY 27.83 billion, taking up 66.2% of the total from mobile service, with the proportion inching up from 54.7%. Mobile broadband users boosted 9.7 million to 132.3 million. ARPU hit CNY 70.3. |
