(DigitalProductionME.com Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Imagine Communications is integrating its end-to-end enterprise software, automation, playout, and distribution solutions with IBM SoftLayer, allowing media companies to bring to market new services more quickly and affordably
Imagine Communications said that it plans to provide broadcast, TV network and service provider markets with a comprehensive suite of cloud-based workflow solutions, encompassing its media, playout and TV Everywhere portfolio.
The solution combines Imagine Communications' cloud-based SelenioNext Adaptive Bit Rate (ABR), a transcoding technology that provides optimised live video streams across multiscreen platforms such as smart phones, tablets, internet connected TVs and laptops, with SoftLayer's global data centres. This collaboration will offer broadcasters cloud-based, end-to-end ad sales, traffic, scheduling, automation, playout, and media distribution solutions.
Media companies will have the opportunity to deploy a wider range of services, achieving significant operational efficiencies and new revenue-generating capabilities.
"Our media and entertainment customers have been asking for collaboration among the vendor community to resolve workflow challenges and provide the next generation of cloud-based solutions to simplify business operations," said Charlie Vogt, CEO of Imagine Communications.
"We are now able to provide our collective customers with comprehensive workflow solutions to virtualize their networks, enhance and expand their service offerings such as TV Everywhere, and improve overall service velocity and innovation. Through integration with IBM SoftLayer's cloud infrastructure, we unleash our finely tuned, end-to-end industry applications to give customers the agility they require to keep pace in a rapidly evolving marketplace."
