Internet firms should pay VAT ; FEEDBACK [Newcastle Evening Chronicle (England)](Newcastle Evening Chronicle (England) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) JUST a word to ask if anyone knows why this government allows internet companies to charge up to Pounds 16 a month for line rental while they do not charge the companies VAT on this fee. This is out of order in my mind, it would help them with government debt and could help with cheaper internet access for the majority of people. I had friends round one day to watch tennis on TV and we all got annoyed with the interminable, boring adverts that prevented us enjoying the game. Several friends commented on this and I said they should do what I now do and refuse to buy anything advertised this way I will also not use any of our major food suppliers if I find they are selling items that have spoilt my leisure time in this way. It isn't fair to the consumer having all these ads on during any sports event. My last grumble is that of the use of the term British, I am English and am proud of my race and history I will not accept this term on any document. I am a Viking and Anglo Saxon descent on the other side of my family they were border reivers and I am proud of my ancestors.
