Referee Instructors, Assessors Course Underway


(AllAfrica Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The CAF Referee Instructors and Assessors Course opened in the Egyptian capital Cairo on Sunday 4 May with a call to participants to keep abreast with technological advancement trends.

The course, running from the 4th through 9 May 2014 seeks to evaluate the Instructors and Assessors and also introduce them to new methodologies in the discharge of their duties.

Areas for review during the five-day course which will tackle both practical and theoretical sessions include Video and Match Analysis, Online reporting, Editing of Clips, Methodology and Teaching practices as well the use of the CAF Content Management System (CMS).



In his opening remarks, Essam Siam, a member of the CAF Referees Committee welcomed the participants to the course, which he described as a new programme to select a panel of Referee Instructors and Assessors. He said participants would train on how to incorporate video clips in their reports in line with the latest technologies.

Instructors for the course are Neji Jouini, Boubaker Hannachi (both from Tunisia), Mbacke Mdemba (Senegal) and Lim Kee Chong (Mauritius).


Forty-two (42) participants, made up of 16 Physical Instructors and 26 Referees Assessors from 29 National Associations are attending the course.
