Iteris Launches ClearPath Weather™ Road Maintenance Decision Support System

SANTA ANA, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

Iteris, Inc. (NYSE MKT: ITI), a leader in providing software-based information solutions to the traffic management market, introduced ClearPath Weather™, a next-generation road maintenance decision support system (MDSS). Iteris' (News - Alert) cloud-based software solution provides winter maintenance strategies for optimizing personnel, equipment, and chemical purchases in addition to providing actionable pavement information for more effective government agency maintenance response. Iteris will introduce and demonstrate ClearPath Weather™ in booth 1325 at the 2014 American Public Works Association's North American Snow Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio, May 4-7.

ClearPath Weather™, is the next-generation of predictive software solutions based on Iteris' proprietary algorithms and Highway Condition Analysis and Prediction System (HiCAPS™) pavement weather model. ClearPath Weather™ also leverages Iteris' ClearPath Weather™ APIs (application programming interface) with the power of big data and the experience of Iteris' in-house staff of meteorologists and data scientists.

"We have built a multimillion dollar business assisting public agencies manage their roadway network, conserve resources, minimize environmental impact, improve snow removal operations, enhance road safety and save money," stated Abbas Mohaddes, president and CEO of Iteris. "Over the past year, we have invested significant resources building our ClearPath next-generation technology platform. ClearPath Weather is the first product series we are introducing to the market as we have strong customer relationships, talented subject matter experts, and many years of experience. The ability to empower customers with real-time, hyper-local weather is highly valuable in many adjacent markets. We expect to enter the precision agriculture market shortly, with our ClearPath Agriculture solution. We believe that our partners in precision agriculture will be able to improve their applications with our unique content enhancing their customer's experience."

Iteris cloud-based MDSS solution ClearPath Weather™ features an easy-to-use interface with state-of-the-art visualization tols and mapping that can allow state and local agency maintenance managers to access real-time information such as looping radar, satellite imagery, weather forecasts, plow location, and route-specific weather and pavement conditions.

During this past winter season, one of the coldest and snowiest on record, several Iteris customers participated in the early access release of ClearPath Weather™. "Using Iteris' ClearPath Weather, as a tool in our winter operations toolbox, allowed us to effectively manage our roads through one of the toughest winters on record," said Tony McClellan, P.E., deputy commissioner, Seymour District, Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT). "We also saw other benefits of the MDSS system such as cost savings in areas of our winter operations and improved communications between garage units."
