Armstrong's Cyber Crime Program Honored as One of Nation's Best

(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) SAVANNAH, Ga., May 6 -- Armstrong Atlantic State University issued the following news: Armstrong Atlantic State University's online Cyber Crime graduate certificate was recently honored as one of the nation's best programs by Forensics Colleges.

Armstrong is featured as one of the "7 Top Cybercrime & E-Discovery Certificate Programs" on a list of outstanding universities offering cutting-edge Cybercrime and E-Discovery Certificate programs.

"One of the key elements that sets Armstrong's program apart is the 'state of the science' cyber security infrastructure that was designed by the in-house Cyber Security Research Institute (CSRI)," Forensics Colleges raves. "This 18-hour course does not require an on-campus visit, which makes it one of the few 100% online cybercrime programs." Criteria used to determine the list of top programs include notable faculty, learning experiences, support and accessibility.

Armstrong launched the only program of its kind in the region dedicated to digital forensics and law enforcement techniques for online crime detection in the fall of 2013. This flexible graduate-level program appeals to working adults, enabling professionals to earn graduate certification while working full-time and advancing their careers.

The online interdisciplinary graduate certificate offers the tools and techniques to conduct high-tech cyber investigations. This program is designed to prepare graduates for federal, state and local government positions, as well as jobs in the private sector.

Students enrolled in the online Cyber Crime Certificate program learn how to detect cybercrime on electronic devices and computers, capturing critical evidence for prosecution. Courses include Cyber Security, Cyber Forensics and Rules of Evidence. Cyber crime investigation is a fast-growing field with major job opportunities.
