BRIEF: Pittsburgh airport board hires national firm to aid in search for new top executive [Beaver County Times, Pa. :: ]

(Beaver County Times (PA) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) May 09--FINDLAY TWP. -- The Allegheny County Airport Authority has hired national firm Krauthamer & Associates to spearhead the search for a new chief executive officer, airport officials said Friday.

The Maryland-based company will be paid 30 percent of the new hire's first year total expected compensation, estimated at $250,000, plus expenses, authority spokeswoman JoAnn Jenny said Friday.

Ousted airport authority president and chief strategy officer Bradley D. Penrod received a $134,375 severance package, plus $51,245 for unused vacation and sick pay, the latter of which the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported. Penrod was fired in March; chief Financial Officer James R. Gill was named acting executive director until a replacement is found.

There have been some other major developments at the airport recently, such as Consol Energy's two-year deal to drill on 9,200 acres of airport-owned property, and the $17.9 billion merger of American Airlines and US Airways.
