SFSC employee charged with having child porn [Highlands Today, Sebring, Fla. :: ]


(Highlands Today (Sebring, FL) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) May 12--SEBRING -- An information technology employee at South Florida State College was arrested Monday and charged with 52 counts of possession of child pornography, according to a news release from the Highlands County Sheriff's Office.



The arrest of Trevor Theron Long, 28, came after Brian Livesay, an Internet Crimes Against Children investigator at the Highlands County Sheriff's Office, received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

An ensuing investigation that included David Drake, a Hardee County detective, determined that Long had child pornography on his work computer, the news release said.


Detectives have also seized computers from Long's home, authorities.

South Florida State College has been forthcoming in cooperating with authorities, the release adds.

Highlands County Sheriff Susan Benton praised Livesay for his work and the college for its cooperation.

"These cases are always disturbing ; our little ones being exploited in such a hidden manner purely for the pleasure of an adult," Benton said.
