Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst's parade banned in Moscow [Asian News International]

(Asian News International Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Melbourne, May 17 (ANI): Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst's parade application has been banned by Moscow's security department.

The parade, which was supposed to honour Austria's bearded lady, would have happened on May 27 to celebrate the 21st anniversary of the legalisation of homosexuality in Russia, News.com.au reported.

According to Billboard, head of Moscow's security department, Alexei Maiorov had said that Wurst's parade was rejected because of concerns it would provoke clashes between gays and their opponents.

Wurst, whose real name is Tom Neuwirth, was crowned winner of the 59th annual Eurovision Song Contest earlier this month. (ANI) (c) 2014 aninews.in All rights reserved. Provided by SyndiGate Media Inc. (Syndigate.info).
