VMware announces Dubai vForum 2014 [ITP.net (United Arab Emirates)]

(ITP.net (United Arab Emirates) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Cloud and virtualisation software company, VMware has announced its annual vForum will take place on 10 June 2014, in Dubai. With over 18,000 people expected to attend, the theme for this year is "Amplify the Possibilities".

The event will focus on building the next-generation of IT to enable organisations to thrive in the new mobile cloud era. Attendees will hear from VMware and partners on the latest in cloud computing, virtualisation and mobility strategies.

"At VMware vForum 2014, a one-day event aimed at IT professionals and organisations of all sizes, you'll hear how the changes within the IT industry have caused fundamental disruption. Companies rise and fall with the latest innovation waves in IT and the successful businesses are those that can adapt fastest and embrace it," Sam Tayan, regional manager, Middle East North Africa at VMware, said.

"Put simply, businesses need an IT infrastructure that is 'built for the fast lane', an infrastructure that enables IT departments to embrace the new wave and one that dramatically reduces time spent managing and maintaining IT as they liberate resources to support new ideas, new applications and accelerate innovation and growth." VForum is in its third year in Dubai where senior representatives from the UAE will also attend, to showcase the fundamental shift in how IT services are being built, run and delivered in support of driving business growth.

The event will be focused around three main axes: Software-Defined Data Centre; Hybrid Cloud; and Mobility. The forum will include presentations, demos, showcases, break-out sessions and partner networking opportunities.

A keynote from Elie Kanaan, vice president, Marketing, EMEA, VMware, on the "Software-Defined Enterprise: Thriving in the Mobile-Cloud Era", will open the event and address how business expectations on IT have grown exponentially, the fundamental changes required in the way IT operates, and the benefits software-defined enterprises can reap.
