MegaFon Buys Equipment, Software from Huawei(Sinocast Telecommunications Beat (China) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) SHENZHEN, June 10, SinoCast -- Foreign media said that Russian telecom carrier MegaFon has purchased equipment and maintenance service worth USD 600 million from Huawei Technologies. Official news from MegaFon revealed a seven-year agreement inked between both sides, covering equipment, software and maintenance service used for network construction and update. Huawei Technologies is already biggest supplier to MegaFon, updating 3G equipment of the latter and supporting building high-speed network in Eurasia Continent. MegaFon is the second biggest telecom carrier in Russia, whose network adopted mostly equipment and software from Huawei Technologies, because of low procurement costs. |
