Willamette Dental Group Pledges $1 Million to Support OHSU's Knight Cancer Challenge
HILLSBORO, Ore. --(Business Wire)--
Willamette Dental Group, the Pacific Northwest's largest multispecialty
group dental practice, has committed to fighting cancer head-on by
pledging $1 million to Oregon Health & Science University's Knight
Nike co-founder Phil Knight and his wife, Penny, launched the Knight
Cancer Challenge in September 2013 when they pledged $500 million to
OHSU's Knight Cancer Institute if OHSU raises another $500 million by
Over the course of 12 months, Willamette Dental Group employees will
contribute to the Challenge;
Willamette Dental Group will match employee contributions; and Dr.
Eugene Skourtes, President and CEO, will match the combined total.
Ultimately, each employee's contribution will be leveraged 8:1 when
accounting for the Knights' challenge pledge.
