Skycasters Unveils New Portable, Fast-Aligning AZ/EL Unit

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Akron, OH (PRWEB) June 18, 2014 Skycasters, a leading provider of business satellite internet services, announces the availability of its Fold Down Nomad, a new, portable, fast-aligning AZ/EL Unit.

Installers in industries like gas, oil and mining or other businesses that need to move their satellite sites frequently stand to reap huge benefits from the new Fold Down Nomad. The product is a natural extension to the company's line of Nomad AZ/EL Caps, and offers greater accuracy, speed and ease of use than conventional AZ/EL Caps. With the Nomad AZ/EL Cap, installers can quickly lock in the dish position with a few turns of the azimuth and elevation wheels.

The Fold Down Nomad represents the next generation of satellite communications engineering at Skycasters. The unit includes a pole-mounted Nomad AZ/EL Cap and dish, which can be folded and unfolded by hand with the assistance of gas shocks. When installers or operators are finished with the unit, it collapses into a transportable position.

The Fold Down Nomad comes on a standard shipping pallet and is easily removed to be mounted on your vehicle or trailer. An optional aluminum pallet allows the entire folded unit to be slid into the back of a standard pick-up truck bed for transport.

The Fold Down Nomad comes standard with stainless steel hardware along with the anodized pole mount and base. The optional powder-coated aluminum pallet includes adjustable lock-down chains, four, 2,000-lb. leveling jack stands, and anti-skid strips, which all add to the durability of the Fold Down Nomad – beneficial since most units will be used in rugged environments and weather conditions that can be less than optimal.

Skycasters engineers have developed a number of options that provide a self-contained, total connectivity solution. Some options include an aluminum pallet; weatherproof electronics box with Wi-Fi router and iDirect X3 modem; Wi-Fi antenna; and 50 feet of power cable run by the optional gas-powered Honda generator and protected by a powder-coated rain hood.

About Skycasters Skycasters has been the industry leader in VSAT technology since 2001. The company delivers commercial broadband satellite Internet access, secure VPNs, mobile portable satellite Internet and corporate data services to customers around the world using three geostationary satellites for coverage virtually everywhere in the western hemisphere.
