The Hecker Law Group Files Patent Infringement Lawsuit on Behalf of Extron Electronics Against Crestron Over Cable Retractor

ANAHEIM, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

Extron Electronics, a leading manufacturer of professional AV system integration products, announced today that it has filed a federal lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Central District of California against Crestron Electronics, Inc. for infringement of Extron's US Patent No. 8,740,127 entitled "Cable Retractor." Extron is represented in the lawsuit by its longstanding intellectual property counsel, Gary Hecker of The Hecker Law Group of Los Angeles, California.

The Extron Cable Retractor patent relates to a cable retraction and management system designed to work with cable access enclosures. Crestron's retractor products accused of infringing Extron's Cable Retractor patent include Crestron's cable retractor models CBLR-HD, CBLR-VGA, CBLR-AUDIO, CBLR-USB, and CBLR-CAT5E, which the federal complaint alleges implement Extron's patented technology.

Extron's innovative Retractor series of cable retraction products enables smooth and effortless pushbutton cable retraction. Extron's retractor products, along with its Cable Cubby tabletop enclosures, have become an industry standard for discreet, convenient access to AV power and data connections. The Retractor series is available with the widest selection of AV and data connectivity including HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI, USB, PC audio and Network.

"Extron's engineers have led the way in cable retractor development," says Andrew Edwards, President and CEO of Extron. "When Extron believes its inventions and patented technology have been copied or otherwise infringed, we take the necessary steps to protect our intellectual property."
