BRIEF: Giant paper airplane video back on the Internet [The Arizona Daily Star, Tucson :: ]

(Arizona Daily Star (Tucson) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) June 19--National media has been linking to this beautiful video of a giant paper airplane flying over the Arizona desert today, though the paper airplane flew originally in March, 2012.

The 45-foot-long, 800-pound paper plane had some mechanical issues out in Eloy where the flight took place that were eventually solved and allowed the largest paper airplane of all time to take flight.

As Star reporter Tom Beal wrote at the time: "The Pima Air & Space Museum, which has been preserving the history of flight since 1976, decided to make some history of its own Wednesday by flying the largest paper airplane ever built.

(Arturo) Valdenegro, 12, a seventh-grader at Santa Cruz Catholic School, won the honor of working with (Art) Thompson on the plane's design by beating out 150 other Tucson-area students in a paper-plane competition at the museum in January." ___ (c)2014 The Arizona Daily Star (Tucson, Ariz.)
