`Rs70,000-CRORE' RJIO TO LAUNCH 4G SERVICES IN 2015


(Indian Business Insight Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has stated that its telecom arm, Reliance Jio Infocomm (RJI), will launch fourth generation (4G) services and products in 2015. RIL acquired Infotel Broadband Services, the sole pan-India winner of 4G spectrum, in a government auction in Jun 2010 for Rs4,800 crore and later renamed it as RJI. Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of RIL, has stated that RJI is a Rs70,000 crore initiative and will cover all states at the outset, with over 5,000 cities and towns and 2,15,000 villages.
