Visiting Nurse Associations of New England, Inc. Appoints New CEO(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Marlborough, MA (PRWEB) June 20, 2014 The Visiting Nurse Associations of New England, Inc, (VNANE) the largest network of home health agencies in the New England states, has appointed Everett M. Devaney, as its new president and chief executive officer. VNANE is a membership organization of some 35 member Visiting Nurse Associations across the New England region and is comprised of high performing non-profit home health care, hospice and community-based agencies. Established in 1985, VNANE secures and administers collaborative business relationships and contracts with providers and insurance carriers primarily in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island. "Ed Devaney has a vast amount of health care and business experience in many different settings" states Holly Chaffee, VNANE's Board Chair. "He has served and led exceptional health care organizations, including hospitals and health systems with long term care and home care, in several locations in the country. He has been an executive officer with a major insurance carrier. We are very fortunate to have someone of Ed's caliber and knowledge join our VNANE team." Devaney has provided executive leadership in several premier health care related organizations. Prior to joining VNANE he was COO at Hackensack (NJ) UMC Mountainside and he has held CEO and COO level positions with some of the nation's top hospitals and health systems including St Vincent's Health System (FL)/ Daughters of Charity National Health System (now Ascension Health), Inova Fairfax Hospital (VA), Mainline Health/Jefferson Health System, and National Medical Enterprises (now Tenet Health). He was also a Vice President with BlueCross BlueShield of Florida. He is also a distinguished Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives. Active in professional and community service, Devaney has served on boards of numerous local community, educational and professional organizations, including the American Cancer Society, the American Red Cross, the Board of Visitors for Jacksonville (FL) University, the Dean's Council of the College of Health, University of North Florida, and as a Preceptor and Adjunct Faculty in Health Services Administration, George Washington University. Devaney earned graduate degrees in Health Care Administration/Public Health from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and in Public Administration from Golden Gate University, San Francisco, and is a graduate of Salem State College (MA). He attended the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine and served in the US Air Force as an Aeromedic. Devaney and his wife, Diane, have four children and two grandchildren, all residing in the greater Boston area.
