AMX Redefines Control with Next Generation NetLinx Controllers

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Las Vegs, Nevada (PRWEB) June 20, 2014 The market leader in AV control and management technology AMX®, a HARMAN® Professional brand, introduced the NetLinx® NX Series Controllers at InfoComm 2014 to support the increasing number of IP-controlled AV products being managed across corporate networks, driving the need for increased performance and network security.

AMX control technology significantly simplifies the meeting experience for enterprise users. And while more and more AV devices can now be controlled over an IP network, a majority of those devices lack industry standard network features to ensure security and scalability. The new, next generation NX Controllers include IPv6 and 802.1x security support for connection to the enterprise network as well as dual NIC functionality to completely isolate IP-controlled AV devices from the network. These features not only enhance security but drastically reduce the number of IP addresses required for AV technology implementations.

The NX Controller Series builds on the legendary reliability of its predecessor NI Controller Series, installed in hundreds of thousands of classrooms, conference rooms and network operating centers around the world. NX Controllers use half of the power of the previous generation and all models were designed to fit into a 1 RU equipment rack space for increased efficiency and implementation flexibility. The NX Series was designed for full backwards compatibility and adds diagnostic capabilities to ensure proper control cabling implementation and to simplify integration. And NetLinx NX Controllers include a significant increase in processor power to handle today's processing-intensive applications and enough on demand power to handle applications with increased requirements in the future.

When using AMX Resource Management Suite (RMS) Enterprise software, NetLinx NX Series Controllers can centrally control and manage all of the AV devices in an AMX installation, whether on premise or from the cloud. All NetLinx NX Controllers will ship with the capability to be immediately configured in system designs using the AMX Rapid Project Maker (RPM) configuration resource with no programming required and auto device binding with AMX user interfaces and control accessories.

Availability and Additional Details AMX is proud to announce that the NX-1200, NX-2200 and NX-3200 begin shipping immediately in the US and are expected to ship globally in September 2014.
