Struggling Amazon worker stole iPads [South Wales Evening Post (Wales)]

(South Wales Evening Post (Wales) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) AN AMAZON employee who was struggling to support his family stole more than Pounds 4,500 worth of electrical goods from the Jersey Marine warehouse, a court has heard.

Alun Tudor Pugh was caught with a haul of goods including six iPad Mini tablet computers and a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 smart phone as he was clocking off from work on June 3. Swansea Crown Court heard he subsequently admitted that he had also stolen another five iPads from Amazon the previous week, which he had sold for some Pounds 750.

Thirty-year-old Pugh, of Thomas Street, Penygraig, Tonypandy, pleaded guilty to one count of theft, and asked for another to be taken into consideration.

The court heard he was Pounds 17,500 in debt and was struggling to support his family.

Pugh was given a 12 week sentence suspended for 12 months, and was ordered to do 150 hours of unpaid work, and pay Amazon Pounds 300 compensation.
