Guilty of handling ; NEWSbriefs [Herald, The (Plymouth, England)](Herald, The (Plymouth, England) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) A MAN has been found guilty of handling a valuable stolen camera and accessories. Dean MacCan, aged 25, had denied dishonestly receiving the Sony Alpha A77 digital camera and a flashgun knowing it was stolen. But he was convicted by a jury after a short trial at Plymouth Crown Court. MacCan told the court he was given the camera by a man who told him he had found it on a train. It was in fact stolen during a burglary. The jury was told he then took it for sale to a second-hand shop. MacCann, of Briardale Road, North Prospect, has previous convictions for having a bladed article in public and possessing cocaine. Judge Paul Darlow adjourned sentence until July 11 and released the defendant on bail. (c) 2014 ProQuest Information and Learning Company; All Rights Reserved. |
