Opening Day: Employer Flexible Goes All-In with New Headquarters

Employer Flexible officially opened its new corporate headquarters today in a move that aims to make client access to the company's quickly growing resources more efficient.

For the first time, the Texas-based business solutions provider has all its core disciplines under one roof. The newly completed structure at 7102 North Sam Houston Parkway W. will house the company's human resources and recruiting operations as well as Empact IT, which Employer Flexible acquired in 2012.

"We're excited to finally unify the entire company, not just physically but culturally," Founding Partner Michael Hopkins said. "This space is built for us and who we want to be, so we can focus even more on impacting what matters to our clients."

At 55,000 square feet the custom-built office more than triples the size of the previous space - a much-needed upgrade to accommodate the firm's growth. Employer Flexible made the Houston Business Journal's Fast 100 list in 2013, which measured revenue growth from 2010-2012.

"Though we only broke ground last year, this resut is really 10 years in the making," said Founding Partner Chris Dollins. "We've stepped into some big shoes, but now we have the room we need to keep growing."

One of the biggest driving factors was logistics: as different departments start working together more closely, it made sense to get everyone in the same room.

"Each year, more clients are looking to integrate their HR services with our IT offerings, and vice versa," Empact IT CEO Dave Brysch said. "Bringing everyone together makes it easier for our teams to solve problems quickly."

Highlights of the three-story headquarters include nine conference rooms, two state-of-the-art network operations centers (NOCs) and a multipurpose facility capable of hosting meetings and training events for as many as 100 people.

"Small businesses don't always have access to a meeting space that really fits their needs. It made sense to create a dedicated facility that would serve our clients' needs as well as our own," Founding Partner Mike Greathouse said.

The Houston-based Urban Cos. led the development efforts, while Dallas-based Stream Realty Partners LP negotiated the long-term lease on Employer Flexible's behalf.
