SAN JOSE, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

John Maydonovitch, President and CEO of MCE, Inc., received the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award from Santa Clara University. Each year, Santa Clara University's School of Engineering recognizes select individuals who have made significant contributions to their chosen professions and to their local community.

John is an alumnus of Santa Clara University - School of Engineering. In 1973, John graduated with a masters degree in Applied Mathematics. Since his graduation, John has developed and advanced his career in his chosen profession in the high-tech industry in Silicon Valley. "I am sincerely thankful to the University of Santa Clara for providing me the academic excellence and high social values that are the foundation to my life and my professional accomplishment," John said. As the chairman of the School of Engineering Advisory Board, John provides consistent, outstanding leadership while securing funding to support engineering programs at the University. In 1999, John established two scholarships to honor the late Professor Gerald Markle, founder of the Applied Mathematics Department. "It is an honor to receive this prestigious award," John said. "Throughout my career, I have enjoyed enriching the lives of students on both an academic and a professional level." John added, "I am humbled and inspired by this honor and remain committed to ensuring excellent corporate and social responsibility, to advance the mission and goals of the School of Engineering, and to enrich the values of the local community. "

As a President and CEO of MCE, a Silicon Valley-based server design manufacture company, John regularly provides internships, at MCE, for Santa Clara engineering students. As interns at MCE, John mentors the students with the necessary social values and industry experience.
