Google I/O: The first Android Wear watches are here [Mobile 88 Online (Malaysia)]

(Mobile 88 Online (Malaysia) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) It’s finally here: Samsung and LG have taken the wraps off their first Android Wear smartwatches after Google revealed them at I/O 2014, which will be known as the Gear Live and G Watch respectively: Samsung Gear Live The Gear Live features a 1.63-inch Super AMOLED display with a 320 x 320 resolution, 1.2GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, Bluetooth 4.0 LTE, Heart Rate Monitor, 300mAh battery and Android Wear. Measuring in at 37.9 x 56.5 x 8.9 mm,  the device weighs 59 g and is dust and water-resistant (IP67).

Samsung will begin pushing out the Gear Live through Google Play starting next month on July 7, with pre-orders available beginning today from Google. It will set you back $USD199.99 (RM 600) and require any Android device running Android 4.3 or later to be able to function.

LG G Watch Next up, the G Watch has a 1.65-inch IPS display with 280 x 280 resolution, 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, 400mAh battery and Android Wear OS. Slightly heavier than the Gear Live with its 63g in weight, it measures 37.9 x 46.5 x 9.95mm. Much like its kin, the G Watch will also get the same IP67 rating, and will work with devices Android 4.3, or higher.

Just like the Gear Live, the G Watch will be also available for pre-order from Google Play later today in 12 countries including United States, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, South Korea and Japan, and will launch later in 27 markets, one of which we hope will be Malaysia. That said, it will cost you slightly more, at $USD229.00 (RM 660) (c) 88 Mobile.com 2014. All rights reserved. Provided by SyndiGate Media Inc. (Syndigate.info).
