LSU Master in Analytics Named Among Nation's Top 20 Programs

BI Software Insight, which offers objective research and reviews of business intelligence solutions, has named the LSU Master of Science in Analytics program among the nation's top programs.
According to BI Software Insight, LSU's program, housed in the Department of Information Systems & Decision Sciences, helps "meet the rising demand for data scientists and analysts who are capable of turning data into insights."
Program Director Joni Shreve stated that there is a definitive skills gap for individuals who can fill big data jobs and the demand is rising.
"Our one-year program teaches students specialized skills that are drawn from a variety of related areas - computer science, statistics, operations research and quality management," Shreve said. "We are preparing students rapidly to use data-driven methods to contribute to organizational effectiveness and to guide decisions."

The Department of Information Systems & Decision Sciences at LSU's E. J. Ourso College of Business combines teaching and research to create a rich learning experience for its students.
