CurriculumLoft Honors Illinois-Based District 158 as International 1:1 Launch Site

INDIANAPOLIS --(Business Wire)--

Consolidated School District 158 in Algonquin, Illinois, has accepted the honor of being an international launch site based on the excellence and commitment it has demonstrated for its technology enriched 1:1 program. District 158 has successfully implemented more than 5,000 devices throughout various grade levels including elementary, middle school and high school.

Marisa Burkhart, Director of Educational Technology and recent recipient of the Illinois Computing Educators "Educator of the Year" award for her work overseeing the 1:1 program in D158, stated, "We are fortunate to have great support for this initiative from our D158 community. From the leadership team, to our teachers, parents, and students - we all understand and support the mission of providing our students with a classroom rich in technology resources, opportunities to collaborate and think creatively, and be challenged at a high level. Regardless of the technology, 1:1 rollouts can be chalenging, but it is extremely rewarding to experience the excitement and opportunity that comes with this change in teaching and learning."

Chris Budzynski, IT Director, added, "We are now embarking on a new, varied interactive approach that involves technology from CurriculumLoft and HP. Our district is heavily leveraging both Android (News - Alert) and Chrome-based hardware at various grade levels, to offer age-appropriate tools."

Dr. John Burkey, Superintendent for District 158, who has provided key foresight, planning, and vision, was quoted as saying, "Our district is excited about the opportunity to be named an international launch site. We learn so much by collaborating with others, so we are thrilled to welcome other districts into our schools to talk to our staff and students."
