Thief hits unlocked vehicle [The Pueblo Chieftain, Colo. :: ](Pueblo Chieftain (CO) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) June 28--A man reported numerous items were stolen from his vehicle Thursday morning while it was parked on a street on the 500 block of West Evans Avenue. Matthew Garcia said someone entered his unlocked 2010 Nissan Versa sometime between 12:30 and 2 a.m. Thursday and stole a computer bag containing an Apple laptop, iPod, external hard drive and two memory cards, according to a police report. The laptop is worth approximately $1,500 and the external hard drive is worth around $200. The total value of the items stolen added up to close to $1,900. There is no suspect information. Property damage About $1,200 worth of property damage was done when someone threw rocks through the window of a house and two cars parked at that house on the 900 block of East Evans Avenue early Friday morning. Rocks were thrown through the window of a 2002 Ford Explorer and a Ford Fusion, as well as one of the home's front windows. The owners of the vehicles were asleep when the incident occurred around 2:20 a.m. and have no suspect information. Fire Two small fires in Huerfano County were quickly contained Friday afternoon. The fires were reported west of La Veta around County Roads 430 and 440 around 3 p.m. The La Veta and Huerfano County fire departments responded to both blazes and had them contained within about an hour. Both fires burned less than 1 acre but produced visible smoke. Arrests Kayla Rea Ortivez, 21, of the 1700 block of East Fourth Street, was arrested Thursday on a warrant suspecting her of burglary. She was being held at Pueblo County jail in lieu of $100,000 bail. Carla Elsie Deherrera, 29, of the 5000 block of Red Creek Springs Road, was arrested Thursday on a felony escape conviction warrant and theft. She was being held at jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.
