zSpace Showcases New Immersive STEM Education Platform for K-12 Learners at ISTE 2014

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ATLANTA, GA -- (Marketwired) -- 06/29/14 -- Today at ISTE 2014 zSpace, Inc., a technology provider that delivers a new way of learning through immersive exploration, unveiled its advanced, interactive education solutions for U.S. K-12 schools. At the conference, the Company will introduce and demonstrate software applications on the zSpace STEM Lab, an interactive, virtual educational platform for K-12 students. Combining the zSpace platform with intuitive STEM education software provides educators and students with a realistic learning environment and a personalized learning experience that aligns to the Next Generation Science Standards and provides the tools needed for 21st century learning.

The zSpace STEM Lab allows students to visualize, create and experience in ways not possible in a traditional computing environment. The package consists of 12 STEM stations, which include all the necessary hardware, peripherals, education software and training, including professional development for teachers. The education software crosses grade levels and subject areas, delivering standards aligned educational experiences.

At ISTE, zSpace will highlight partner applications including Cyber-Anatomy with CyberScience3D and CyberAnatomy Med VR, Dassault Systèmes simulation and CAD software, Designmate 3D education software and open source biomolecular modeling software, PyMol and Avogadro.

zSpace will also be introducing new learning applications specifically designed to address 21st century learning challenges using project based learning. The applications being demonstrated include: zView - which allows users of zSpace to share an immersive virtual experience with an audience in real time. Teachers and students can present their zSpace projects in an effective, dramatic fashion to fellow students in the classroom. Newton's Park - where students can build simulations, change gravity, stop and reverse time and gather data about the forces on the objects. Franklin's Lab - allowing students to build virtual circuits and electromagnets, troubleshoot motors and ultimately build the electrical components to their own virtual robot. The zSpace Studio and Gallery - including over 1,000 curated models to allow students and teachers to quickly find content relevant to their subject area of interest. Through Studio, students can compare, analyze, annotate and explore rich 3D models from zSpace Gallery or created by the student in other 3D modeling software.

All zSpace software applications allow teachers to personalize activities by providing learning questions, creating hints, setting restrictions and choosing what appears in zSpace learning application environment.

"Every student has a unique way of absorbing information, learning and interacting with new curriculum, especially lessons as complex as human anatomy or circuitry," said Paul Kellenberger, CEO, zSpace, Inc. "With the zSpace STEM Lab, students can explore and examine educational models and learn within an exciting virtual environment tailored to their needs. By putting revolutionary, immersive education applications in the hands of students, educators gain a new cost-effective learning platform and can offer learners an extremely engaging and interactive tool." zSpace will demonstrate its interactive educational platform in booth #3537 and in DesignMate booth #1233 during ISTE, June 29 - July 1 in Atlanta at the Georgia World Congress Center.
