Samsung to launch production of TV-sets in Uzbekistan [UzDaily (Uzbekistan)]

South Korean company Samsung Electronics is planning to launch production of TV-sets in Uzbekistan, local magazine Economic Review reported.
The report said that Samsung is planning to launch production of TV-sets in Uzbekistan in the second half of 2014, as TV segment is one of dynamic markets in Uzbekistan. The volume of investments to the project was not disclosed.
Samsung Electronics has been implementing several projects in Uzbekistan. According to assessments, Samsung hold leading positions in such market segments as TV-set, smartphones, computer monitors in Uzbekistan.
In 2011, Samsung Electronics Co. launched production of washing machines at Zenith Electronics in Tashkent. The project cost is US$2.2 million and its capacity is 25,000 units a year.
In September 2011, Samsung Electronics began to produce vacuum cleaners in Karakalpakstan at Samsung Nukus in cooperation with White Machine Technology.
On 28 November 2011, South Korean company started to produce microwave ovens in Tashkent with the capacity of 100,000 units a year. The project was launched with Neo Sun Light.
