Infosys triggers studies on 'Internet of Everything' [DNA : Daily News & Analysis (India)]


(DNA : Daily News & Analysis (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Bangalore: The IT services major Infosys has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a wireless provider in Philippines to develop new solutions in the areas of machine to machine (M2M) communication and the Internet of Everything.



The MoU, between Infosys and SMART Enterprises, the enterprise business group of SMART Communications Inc, aims at enabling organisations to listen, respond and make predictions based on machine-generated data. Both the firms will leverage their proven expertise in technology and intelligent communication to design industry solutions across areas like healthcare, retail, connected cars and home security.

The MoU is targeted towards empowering global businesses to nurture new growth by harnessing technologies like big data, cloud, mobility, social media.


According to Dheeshjith VG, senior vice president, unit head-growth markets, Infosys, in order to sustain digital economic growth today, enterprises are seeking new ways to deliver a more positive and differentiated customer experience while reducing cost and simplifying technology.

"Open collaboration with the ecosystem will allow our clients to test new concepts for intelligent systems while reducing risks," said Dheeshjith.

Jovy Hernandez, first vice president and head, PLDT ALPHA enterprises and SMART Enterprises, sales and marketing, said that the Internet of Everything will help enterprises rely on their remote assets and connected devices to transform businesses.

"The centre of excellence is expected to accelerate solutions development, streamline product delivery, and give rise to new business models," said Hernandez.
