EMAMI ON A TOP-LEVEL HIRING SPREE TO SPEED UP EXPANSION


(Indian Business Insight Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) company Emami of Kolkata is going for senior level appointments to spearhead an aggressive growth plan and become one of the top five FMCG companies in India. It has roped in Shridhar Panshikar of Britannia Industries Ltd (BIL) as its sales president. Emami has hired more than half a dozen senior executives in recent months. These are strategic recruitments aimed at catalysing growth and the company is inflating its salary bill by going on a hiring spree. Emami has also hired BIL's chief operating officer as chief executive officer of its consumer care division, and managing director of Maxus Bashab Sarkar as senior vice-president for media buying and planning. It has also roped in Mohan Panchabhai from Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) as president (operations). KS Arun Kumar, also from HUL, has been roped in as president information technology.
