Khalid Abu Baker leaves Kaspersky Lab ME [ITP.net (United Arab Emirates)]

(ITP.net (United Arab Emirates) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Barely a year after Kaspersky Lab named its new managing director for the Middle East following Tarek Kuzbari's departure, Channel Middle East has learnt that Khalid Abu Baker has quit the security software vendor.

Abu Baker confirmed the development in an interview with Channel Middle East that he had left Kaspersky Lab Middle East. "I can confirm that I left Kaspersky in May this year to pursue my own business interest in the systems integration segment," he said.

Abu Baker added that he has already started the process of setting up and registering an SI company that will focus on providing security solutions and services to the regional IT market. "I am hoping to have that process completed by the end of July and start operations soon thereafter," he said.

Details about when Kaspersky will name Abu Baker's successor are still murky although insiders say an announcement is expected soon.

Prior to being appointed managing director for Kaspersky Middle East in July 2013, Abu Baker held the role of corporate sales director.
