TeleYemen and Intelsat extend deal to improve service in Yemen [ITP.net (United Arab Emirates)]

(ITP.net (United Arab Emirates) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Intelsat and Yemen International Telecommunications Co (TeleYemen) have expanded their existing agreement to provide additional support for its VSAT network within Yemen.

Under the new, multi-year agreement, TeleYemen will expand its Ku-band capacity on Intelsat 15 at 85º East to deliver VSAT services to corporate, banking and oil & gas companies, in addition to providing capacity to telecom operators in the country.

"Intelsat's satellite services will enable TeleYemen to establish a strong VSAT network that will deliver the bandwidth necessary for our customers to further develop and grow their businesses," said Dr Ali Nagi Nosary, CEO of TeleYemen. "Intelsat's reliable and robust capacity will enable us to more quickly and efficiently expand our capabilities and provide critical connectivity to some of the fastest-growing business sectors in Yemen." "We work closely with our customers to provide them with the satellite services needed to expand their business and customer base," said Jean-Philippe Gillet, Intelsat's vice president, Europe, Middle East and Africa Sales. "This new agreement reinforces our long-term partnership with TeleYemen and supplies the capacity that will help them extend the benefits of broadband connectivity to previously unserved areas of the country. This, in turn, will spur further development and business expansion and benefit the population as a whole." (c) 2014 ITP Business Publishing Ltd. All Rights Reserved. Provided by SyndiGate Media Inc.
