Bombardier Strengthens Commercial Aircraft Networks in Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean Regions

(Marketwire (Canada) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - July 10, 2014) - Bombardier Aerospace announced that it continues to expand its worldwide local response networks with the opening of a new Regional Support Office (RSO) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The office - the 23rd Bombardier RSO to open in the network - will anchor regional support capabilities for Bombardier commercial aircraft customers throughout the Middle East and surrounding areas. Bombardier announced the new Dubai RSO during the Africa and Middle East Regional Review to an audience of commercial aircraft customers, foreign dignitaries and government officials in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Bombardier also announced it is further strengthening its commercial aircraft sales and marketing team with the appointment of Alex Glock, Regional Vice President, Sales - Latin America and the Caribbean. Mr. Glock will be based in the region with the location of his central sales office to be confirmed at a later date. Satellite commercial aircraft sales offices are already located in Sao Paolo, Brazil and Buenos Aires, Argentina. In the near future, the breadth of the Latin America commercial aircraft sales and marketing teams will be strengthened further as the central office is staffed to fully support the region.

"In the last 10 years, capacity growth in the region has nearly doubled, keeping in line with an accelerated GDP rate that is one of the world's fastest growing. As demand for commercial aircraft accelerates in Latin America and the Caribbean, we are pleased to demonstrate the importance of this dynamic market as we realign and position a strong, locally based sales and marketing team under Alex to provide industry-leading solutions to current and prospective customers," said Kevin Smith, Vice President, Sales, Americas, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft.

"Alex brings over 20 years of industry experience and strategic knowledge of the Latin America and Caribbean markets. He will be instrumental in further strengthening our presence in these key strategic regions, which are experiencing robust economic growth - projected to continue with events such as the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympics activities in Brazil," added Mr. Smith. "These major international sporting events are spurring regional growth, including investment in secondary aviation infrastructure, and the development of low fare carriers, providing wider access to affordable air travel." More about the Dubai RSO Over the last two years, Bombardier has made great strides in the regionalization of its customer services network, as well as its Commercial Aircraft's sales and marketing teams - more than doubling the teams worldwide.

The new commercial aircraft RSO is located alongside Bombardier's business aircraft RSO and business and commercial aircraft sales teams within the Dubai Airport Free Zone. This local presence provides customers with an additional level of support in conjunction with Bombardier's extensive parts and maintenance network of wholly owned service centres and authorized service facilities (ASF), as well as its expert in-service engineering teams and 24/7 Customer Response Centres.

"The Middle East is an important region for Bombardier with a large number of existing Bombardier commercial aircraft operators," said Todd Young, Vice President, Customer Services & Support, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft. "By opening a commercial aircraft RSO in Dubai, we will strengthen the support presence on the ground. It is yet another example of our commitment to building lasting relationships with existing and potential customers, as well as establishing local roots in the markets where our commercial aircraft operate." The Dubai RSO will provide in-region account management support for all CRJ and Q-Series aircraft operators, and will continue to grow to meet the needs of future CSeries aircraft operators in the region. To date, Bombardier has over 200 commercial aircraft in service or on order in the Middle East and Africa region. The Dubai RSO will provide expertise and support to local commercial aircraft operators, as well as operators flying into the region.

Bombardier has been actively expanding its support network to bring services closer to its growing international customer base. This new addition is part of a network that now has a total of 23 RSOs, serving both business and commercial aircraft, located in countries such as Australia, Brazil, China, Germany, India, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and United States of America. The Dubai, UAE commercial aircraft RSO joins the business aircraft RSO as the second office to support Bombardier aircraft in and around Dubai. The business aircraft RSO in Dubai joined the Bombardier Customer Services network in 2010.
