Source: Tom Renney to be named as Hockey Canada's president and CEO(Canadian Press DataFile Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Tom Renney will be named Hockey Canada president and CEO, a source tells The Canadian Press. Renney, who previously was an associate coach on Mike Babcock's staff with the Detroit Red Wings, will replace Bob Nicholson, who resigned earlier this year. An announcement is expected Tuesday in Calgary. Along with stints as head coach of the Vancouver Canucks, New York Rangers and Edmonton Oilers, Renney also served as the Rangers' director of player personnel and was behind the bench for Team Canada at the 1994 Olympics. Hockey Canada's board of directors began its confidential search for Nicholson's replacement in April with the expectation of making a hire by the end of July.
