Prudential Financial Participates in 2014 National Council of La Raza Annual ConferenceNEWARK, N.J. & LOS ANGELES --(Business Wire)-- Prudential Financial, Inc. will have a significant presence at the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) Annual Conference July 19-22, 2014 in Los Angeles, CA (News - Alert). The company is presenting a workshop on Latino retirement preparedness, facilitating a workshop for young leaders on workplace success, co-hosting an Affiliate Leadership breakfast and announcing new research in partnership with NCLR's Wealth-Building Policy Project to determine the financial education needs of the Hispanic community. Prudential executives will be available to comment on addressing barriers to financial security in the Hispanic community, as well as the shared benefits of investing in workplace diversity. With regard to financial security, these experts can speak to the critical savings and asset protection programs that move individuals, families, communities and business into better financial standing.
Lata N. Reddy Lata Reddy is vice president for corporate social responsibility at Prudential Financial, Inc. and president of the Prudential Foundation. She is responsible for overseeing the company's philanthropic activities, social investments, corporate contributions and employee engagement efforts. Reddy joined Prudential in 1997 to manage the foundation's education grant-making activities. In 2002, she became vice president of the Prudential Foundation. Previously, Reddy worked with the New York regional office of the U.S. Department of Education, where she was an attorney in the Office for Civil Rights. She also was director of finance and legal services at the Council for Educational Development and Research, a nonprofit education policy association in Washington, D.C. Reddy serves on the boards of numerous nonprofits including the Bedford-Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation and Living Cities. She is also a Pahara Aspen Institute Fellow. Reddy has a B.A. in economics from the University of Michigan and a law degree from Emory University.
Michele C. Green Michele C. Green is vice president and Chief Diversity Officer at Prudential. She is responsible for leading and supporting all diversity and inclusion initiatives for the company, and for ensuring ongoing compliance with federal and state equal employment opportunity/affirmative action laws and requirements. Green joined Prudential in April 2010 as vice president and counsel in the Employment and Labor Law Group. In this role, she provided legal advice, counsel, training and investigative support to several lines of business on a variety of employment and human resources related matters. Prior to joining Prudential, Green served as General Counsel of the Waterfront Commission of New York Harbor, an Instrumentality of the States of New York and New Jersey. Previously, Green spent four years at Merrill Lynch. In her last role, she led the diversity and inclusion efforts of the Global Wealth Management business. Before Merrill Lynch, Green served as Director of the State of New Jersey's Division of Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action. Prior to joining the ranks of public service, Green was in private practice with the law firms of Collier, Jacob & Mills, P.C. and Lowenstein, Sandler, P.C. in Roseland, N.J. She also served as an Adjunct Professor at Seton Hall University School of Law. Green graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1995. She served as Law Clerk to the Honorable James H. Coleman, Jr. of the New Jersey Supreme Court. Green is an active member of several professional associations including the Association of Corporate Counsel, Minority Corporate Counsel Association, Corporate Counsel Women of Color, National Employment Law Council Conference, and Society for Human Resource Management. She has also been honored as one of the "Most Powerful & Influential Women of the Tri-State Area" by The Tri-State Diversity Council.
