United States : MICROSOFT acquires developer of cloud-based business continuity technology INMAGE [TendersInfo (India)]


(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) As part of an ongoing series of moves to add storage-oriented value to the Microsoft Azure public cloud, IT giant Microsoft has announced the acquisiton of a developer of cloud-based business continuity technology, InMage.



Microsoft's corporate vice president of cloud and enterprise marketing, Takeshi Nomuto, announced the acquisiiton in in a Friday blog post.

Microsoft has made the acquisition, at a time when it is strengthening its cloud storage capabilities through its own technologies and with the help of several strategic partners.


Nomuto said in the blog that following the acquisition, the IT giant intends to merge the InMage Scout backup and replication software into Microsoft's Azure Site Recovery service.

He wrote that the consolidation actually builds on previous plans from Microsoft to allow data migration to Azure with InMage Scout.

Nomuto added : "With the completion of this acquisition, we are now working to integrate the InMage Scout technology into our Azure Site Recovery service in order to give customers a simple, cost-effective way to ensure business continuity with the power and scale of the Azure global cloud".
