Aviation bureau ignores high court order on Air India crew passes [Mumbai] [Times of India]

(Times of India Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) MUMBAI: Two AI cabin crew members, who were denied Airport Entry Passes (AEPs) by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), are yet to get justice despite the Bombay HC ruling over 15 days ago that the passes be issued. The high court order, dated July 2, directed BCAS to issue AEPs to KVJ Rao and Mayank Sharma without restrictions on the AEP's validity. But the crew recently discovered that they had been issued 30-day AEPs only. "The application for the AEP ... was for 89 days, therefore it is absolutely clear that you have unilaterally chosen to restrict the validity contrary to your own guidelines and the letter and spirit of the Bombay high court order,'' said the crew in a letter sent to BCAS recently.
