Dubai Investments reaches out to the community with Ramadan initiatives [Emirates News Agency (WAM) (United Arab Emirates)]


(Emirates News Agency (WAM) (United Arab Emirates) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) DUBAI, 21st July, 2014 (WAM)--Dubai Investments PJSC [DI] – the leading investment company listed on the Dubai Financial Market [DFM], has lent its support to a number of social and community initiatives to help the underprivileged across the UAE in line with its spirit of sharing and caring during the Holy Month of Ramadan.



As part of its community outreach, Dubai Investments is distributing 15,000 ready-to-eat meals in collaboration with Tayyib Foods to the deprived sections of the society in Africa.

DI is also lending a helping hand to the 'What If' campaign by Dubai Cares during Ramadan this year. The campaign is aimed at drawing attention to the plight faced by children in the developing world, the impact of the lack of education, and improving children's access to quality learning environments.


DI is supporting a number of Iftars organised by various centres for the underprivileged and needy, including Ousha bint Hussein Cultural Centre [Al Rewaq] and Rashid Centre for the Disabled, as also the Ramadan initiatives by Beit Al Khair Society and Al Ihsan Charity Association, among others.

DI and its subsidiary Marmum Dairy Farm have also joined hands to actively contribute to the 'Smile on the Face' campaign, which involves distribution of Iftar meal boxes to labourers at camps across Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah. The initiative aims to reach out to over 20,000 labourers by the end of the Holy Month. DI is the title sponsor and Marmum is supplying laban as part of its campaign participation.

Marmum is also supporting a number of other community efforts during the Holy Month. These include free juices for the Ramadan Wheelchair Basketball Tournament, Holy Quran Memorisation, Pakistan Association Dubai Football Tournament, and Iftar Meals in association with Dubai Municipality & at Lulu Hypermarket, among others.

Dubai Investments has regularly rolled out a number of community-related programs by engaging its employees, partners as well as environment-related initiatives that are firmly aligned with its core businesses and competencies. The company continues to partner and support various social organisations working in the areas of education, sports and helping people with disabilities as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility [CSR] programme.
