Assay Depot Partners with Kansas City Area Life Science Institute to Create World's First Academic Research Exchange

SAN DIEGO --(Business Wire)--

Assay Depot Inc., the pharmaceutical industry's leading marketplace for scientific services, today announced a partnership to build an academic Research Exchange for use by scientists at ten leading research hospitals, institutes, and universities in the Midwest. Research Exchanges are powerful relationship management systems that help scientists collaborate internally, and provide on-demand access to a global network of external research partners.

"Academic researchers are struggling to do more research in the face of reduced government funding," said Kevin Lustig PhD, Assay Depot's CEO. "Research Exchanges are a new way to empower scientists, promote innovation, and reduce research costs at the same time."

Leading the effort are the University of Missouri, University of Kansas, Kansas State University and the Kansas City Area Life Sciences Institute (KCALSI). Other organizations participating in the exchange include Children's Mercy Hospitals, Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, Kansas University Medical Center, MRIGlobal, Saint Luke's Health System, and the Truman Medical Centers.

"Our mission is to foster innovative research by providing our scientists with access to the latest and greatest tools available," said Keith Gary, Director of Program Development at KCLSI. "By connecting our scientists to one another and to the wealth of external resources available in the biological sciences today, we are ensuring we stay at the forefront of research and discovery."
