Thought Technology to Present Software for Stress Control at the 2014 American Psychological Association Convention in DC

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Montreal, Quebec (PRWEB) July 22, 2014 Thought Technology's new Stress Control Suite is a set of simple tools, designed to help clinicians do biofeedback therapy with clients, even if they have little or no experience with biofeedback. The tools in the suite assess a client's physiological responses to stressful situations and elucidate any abnormal patterns to teach them to recuperate from stress using biofeedback.

In today's fast paced world, we are familiar with stress and its negative impact on our health. Most people can identify when they are feeling stressed, but may not be aware of the increased heart and respiration rates, tense muscles, and cold and sweaty hands. However, with the knowledge of these physiological changes comes the power to regulate them.

Thought Technology's Stress Control Suite works by monitoring a client's arousal and stress levels with only a temperature sensor and a skin conductance sensor. A stress assessment objectively measures how stressed the client becomes and evaluates their ability to recover. The software provides instructions for breathing relaxation, guided relaxation, binaural beat relaxation and free-flow training. Audio and visual feedback is provided to facilitate the training process.

Asked about the need for this type of feedback, Thought Technology Vice President, Lawrence Klein replied, "Lord Kelvin once said that 'If you can't measure it, you can't improve it.' Biofeedback monitoring offers both the clinician and the client a window into the self. Technology has become a huge part of our daily lives and our Stress Control Suite and ProComp2™ physiological monitoring system provide clinicians with a simple way to incorporate the latest technology into their practice." Healthcare practitioners attending the American Psychological Association convention are invited to visit Booth #458 to see Thought Technology's full line of biofeedback equipment and how this exciting package can immediately enhance their clinical practice.
