(South Florida Sun Sentinel (FL) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) July 23--The Pembroke Pines Police Department has released a free smartphone application that allows users to upload photos and GPS information to report possible crimes.

The MyPD app can be used on both iPhone or Android phones and is not intended for use during emergency situations.

Users can follow the latest tweets from Pembroke Pines police, send anonymous tips, commend an officer, submit feedback, ask questions and find contact numbers, according to the agency. Push notifications are also available for timely updates, and the app includes links to the Federal Emergency Management Agency for information on most emergency situations.
