InMobi, the World's Largest Independent Mobile Ad Network, Achieves Performance Predictability With Aerospike In-Memory NoSQL Database
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. & BANGALORE, India --(Business Wire)--
Aerospike, the leading open source NoSQL database announced its
partnership with InMobi, the world's largest independent mobile ad
network, to run in-memory databases on both RAM (News - Alert) and flash-based
solid-state drives (SSDs). As a result, InMobi has realized significant
gains in price/performance over running in-memory on RAM alone.
InMobi uses Aerospike as the context store for its ad-serving platform.
The Aerospike database works alongside an Apache Hadoop system, which
mines data that has been collected through the day. The analytical
results from Hadoop are then stored in Aerospike along with tailored
ads, which are displayed to users in real time.
"Our business requires low latency reads and writes," said InMobi
Co-founder and Vice President of Technology Mohit Saxena. "Aerospike
offered us price/performance and cost-effective scaling by running on
Aerospike clusters distributed across four InMobi data centers run at a
total of 480,000 transactions per second (TPS) across the four clusters.
Collectively the clusters manage 2.8 billion records and nearly 4TB of
data stored in a combination of in-memory and on-disk namespaces.
"As the second-largest global mobile advertising solution provider after
Google (News - Alert) AdMob, InMobi is at the forefront in using contextual data to
deliver personalized ads to millions of consumers at any given moment,"
said Aerospike Founder and Vice Presdent of Engineering and Operations
Srini V. Srinivasan. "We are thrilled by InMobi's success in using our
flash-optimized in-memory NoSQL Aerospike database to predictably meet
the demands for real-time, personalized interactions even as the company
scales to support its exponential growth."
InMobi enables the world's leading brands, developers, and publishers to
engage global consumers through mobile advertising. InMobi platforms
leverage advances in big data, user behavior, and cloud-based
architectures to simplify mobile advertising for its customers.
Recognized by MIT (News - Alert) Technology Review as one of the 50 Disruptive
Companies of 2013, InMobi is the world's largest independent mobile ad
network, engaging 759 million consumers across 165 countries. For

Aerospike is the open source front-edge database powering a new
generation of interactive, real-time Web and mobile applications that
operate at global scale. It is the first flash-optimized in-memory NoSQL
database to combine transactions and "hot" analytics with strong ACID
consistency and enterprise-grade reliability. Purpose-built to make
scaling easy and affordable, it enables all developers to take advantage
of predictable, sub-millisecond latency for distributed caching, session
management, user profile, and key value store use cases. In production
non-stop for nearly four years, Aerospike is deployed at real-time big
data companies like AppNexus, eXelate, Chango and [x+1]. Aerospike is
headquartered in Silicon Valley. Investors include New Enterprise
