A investigation involving Leelanau County sheriff's detectives and FBI agents led them to Michael Edward Burr Jr., 22, who will appear Wednesday morning in 86th District Court for a video arraignment. He faces four counts of distributing child sexually abusive material and one count of using a computer to commit a crime. Leelanau County Sheriff Mike Borkovich said deputies arrested Burr on Tuesday morning after an investigation by his deputies and the FBI. He said FBI agents have greater capabilities to deal with some cases that involve computer crimes. "We are looking at this as something of a serious nature, because first of all we want to protect children," he said. Leelanau County Prosecutor Joe Hubbell said it's alleged Burr used a "peer-to-peer file-sharing program" to send five videos of child sexually abusive material. Peer-to-peer networks are commonly used to share digital media like movies between computers.
