Riley chosen for city manager board [Enid News & Eagle, Okla. :: ]


(Enid News & Eagle (OK) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) July 29--ENID, Okla. -- Enid Assistant City Manager Joan Riley has been selected to serve on a statewide panel of municipal professionals.

At the City Management Association of Oklahoma Board of Directors meeting this month, Riley was tapped to be the assistant city manager representative to the board. She was not available for comment.

The CMAO met in Guthrie July 16-18. Riley will serve a one-year term.

The board will have representatives of several western and northern Oklahoma cities. Woodward Assistant City Manager Doug Haines was elected vice president of the organization, and the city manager of Ponca City, Craig Stephenson, will serve as president for the next year.



Other new members and their positions are secretary/treasurer, Brian McDougal of Shawnee; past president, Greg Buckley of Altus; and student representative Andrew Conyers.

Dave Slezickey, city manager of Kingfisher, was elected as the CMAO District 7 representative, according to a press release.


The CMAO, founded 64 years ago, "emphasizes and enforces the code of ethics that governs the profession, promotes the proficiency of city managers and administrators, assists in the improvement of city administration and acts as a clearinghouse for information on matters of interest to all local governments," the release states.
