NIKSUN WWSMC Returns to the City of the Future

PRINCETON, N.J. --(Business Wire)--

NIKSUN (News - Alert)® Headquarters is buzzing with the newest upcoming event. On August 4th, 2014, NIKSUN, the world leader in real-time and forensics-based cyber security and network monitoring solutions, is hitting the streets of Tokyo, Japan. NIKSUN's Worldwide Security & Mobility Conference (WWSMC) is heading once again to the City of the Future. Attended annually by hundreds of security practitioners, the WWSMC is recognized as the premiere cyber security assembly in Japan and the region.

NIKSUN is no stranger to Tokyo. This year's WWSMC marks the second for NIKSUN in Japan. In the previous year, NIKSUN representatives and other prominent researchers and leaders advised on the growing cyber needs in the region. These included securing mobile infrastructure and counter measures of state-of-the-art cyber attacks and challenges in Japan. The 2014 NIKSUN Japan WWSMC promises to be yet another powerful day, hosting the convergence of many talented minds.

Mr. Fumiaki Yamasaki, Professor at Aizu University will keynote the WWSMC with his overview of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) framework. Directed under President Barack Obama, the NIST framework provides a structure that organizations, regulators and customers can use to create, guide, assess or improve comprehensive cyber security programs. Mr. Yamasaki will not only outline the framework, but explain its intention. In turn, he will address how companies and government organizations alike can deploy the NIST framework to enhance cyber security protection.

Top-notch sales and engineering team members representing NIKSUN will include Rck Sanford, SVP of Worldwide Sales; Mr. Jochen Patzer, VP of System Engineering, Mr. Katsuhiko Ikeda, Regional Sales Manager, Japan; and Mr. Yukiharu Haraguchi, Systems Engineer, Japan.

Opening the Japan WWSMC, Mr. Sanford will review the most recent international cyber attacks. His speech will highlight how the important NIST framework can be the base for the Japanese cyber security environment. Why Japan? Due to the increasing building of private Security Operations Centers (SOCs) within companies and government sectors, now is an optimal time to accumulate the knowledge of how to build and operate SOCs in the prevention of cyber attacks against critical assets.

Later in the day's program, Mr. Haraguchi will provide an overview of the NIKSUN security solution, followed by a demonstration of NIKSUN's sophisticated capabilities, showing in real-time how the NIKSUN security solution works at the operational level of such SOCs that Mr. Sanford will refer to in his opening speech.

Another notable invited presenter includes Mr. Keisuke Kamata, Senior Analyst at the Cyber Defense Institute. Mr. Kamata is well-known in the Asia-Pacific area for his diligent work in the financial sector. He will facilitate dialogue on how organizations should build and maintain private SOCs.

Dr. Pruthi and NIKSUN are looking forward to the outcome of this year's WWSMC, and the many more to come to Tokyo and the Asia-Pacific region.

All of those behind NIKSUN are eager to return again to the cyber realm in Tokyo. "We are pleased to offer our WWSMC in Tokyo next week, as it is a prime location for our international cyber warriors," said Dr. Parag Pruthi, NIKSUN Founder, Chairman, and CEO. "With the growing number of private SOCs, governments and enterprises are looking to NIKSUN's solutions to protect their investments. At WWSMC Tokyo, experts in the field will meld minds with Team NIKSUN and together we can solve the cyber issues of our day."

About WWSMC

Dr. Parag Pruthi, NIKSUN Founder, Chairman, & CEO first conceived the idea of NIKSUN's WWSMC through conversations with high government officials. Spurred on by discussions, Dr. Pruthi began an educational campaign to raise awareness on the issues facing the world from malicious cyber actors operating inside and outside our borders. In response, the NIKSUN WWSMC brings together global technical leaders to foster an interactive and informative learning experience, bringing us all a step closer in keeping our cyber world safe today, and for future generations.

Registration is closed due to early high attendance rates. Look for more updates during and after NIKSUN's WWSMC, Japan 2014.
