Ryan Ehrensberger Named UNOS Director of Research

United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) hired Ryan Ehrensberger, Ph.D. as Director of Research. UNOS manages the nation's transplant system, the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN), under contract with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Health Services and Resources Administration.
In this newly created position, Ehrensberger will provide executive level administration and leadership to his department, which develops programming and analysis of data that pertains to the patient waiting list, organ donation and matching, and transplantation.
"Ryan's background in data-driven performance improvement will strengthen UNOS' work to save the lives of patients with end-stage organ failure," said UNOS CEO Brian Shepard.
Before joining UNOS, Ehrensberger was a consultant at Hammes Company, where he provided strategic planning and advisory consulting services to hospitals and health care systems throughout the country. He also previously worked as Administrative Director for Business Development at Bon Secours Virginia He
Ehrensberger acquired his Bachelors of Science at Bowling Green State University, a Masters of Public Health from the University of Tennessee and his Ph. D. in Research and Evaluation Methodology from Virginia Commonwealth University.
A private, nonprofit organization, UNOS manages the nation's organ transplant system and oversees the world's most comprehensive database of clinical transplant information under contract with the federal government.
