Cablevision Names Former Yahoo Executive David Dibble Chief Technology Officer


BETHPAGE, N.Y. --(Business Wire)--

Cablevision Systems (News - Alert) Corporation (NYSE:CVC) today announced the appointment of David Dibble as chief technology officer, effective September 2014. Mr. Dibble most recently served as Advisor to the CEO at Yahoo and previously was the company's executive vice president of Central Technology. He will report to Cablevision Chief Executive Officer James L. Dolan.

In this newly created role, Mr. Dibble, 54, will be accountable for enhancing Cablevision's technology infrastructure and implementing an enterprise-wide approach to data architecture. He will manage the Corporate Engineering, Information Technology, Network Operations and Software teams as well as oversee a wide range of systems including customer service information systems, corporate financial systems, business intelligence and more. Additionally, he will collaborate with other Cablevision executives to fully exploit Cablevision's industry leading WiFi (News - Alert) network and to support the design and development of current and future products and services.

Mr. Dibble is one of several recently appointed senior executives and he will be key to executing Cablevision's strategy to become the premier connectivity provider in the market, delivering a peerless customer experience. He will work closely with Mr. Dolan, President Brian Sweeney and Chief Operating Officer Kristin Dolan, bringing together technology, operations and strategy to drive innovation and growth. Long-time Cablevision technology executive Wilt Hildenbrand will continue to serve as Senior Advisor for the company.

Mr. Dibble spent the past six years at Yahoo in multiple executive roles. As executive vice president of Central Technology, he was responsible for all aspects of design, science, platforms, engineering and operations of the global technical infrastructure. During his tenure at Yahoo, he designed and built the world's most efficient data center in record time. He also helped unify the central technology and core platforms groups into one centralized team to improve efficiencies and achieve greater alignment.


Before joining Yahoo, Mr. Dibble was Chief Technology Officer at First Data Corporation, a global electronic payment processing company, where he oversaw the creation and development of the technology strategy and governance framework. Prior to that, he held numerous senior technology positions at JPMorgan Chase & Co., Charles Schwab & Co., Fidelity Investments and FMC Corporation.

Mr. Dibble currently serves on the Board of Directors at Tribune Publishing Company and is an Advisory Board Member at Elementum SCM, a Silicon Valley cloud-based supply chain upstart.

Mr. Dibble is a graduate of the University of Kansas, where he earned his B.S. in quantitative economics and undertook three years of graduate studies in economics, mathematics, and computer science. He will be relocating to New York from the west coast in the coming weeks.
