Tax director takes a step up ladder [Evening Gazette (UK)]

(Evening Gazette (UK) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) AWARD.WINNING business and tax advisory firm Evolution LLP has made a key promotion as it looks to the future.

Tim Mallon, who originally joined the accountancy practice as a tax director in November 2013, has been promoted to associate member while continuing to lead the tax services team.

As longer-term strategies are being set in motion for Evolution, bold plans are in development for the business and its people.

Mr Mallon, who joins Joanne Regan as associate member for the practice, said: "Everyone in the team has made me feel very welcome and I was only too pleased to commit my future with the firm.

"It will be great to be involved in the running of a growing business, which is forward thinking not just for itself but for its clients." After qualifying as a chartered accountant in 1987 in London, Mr Mallon returned to the North-east in 1989 and has since been providing tax planning and wealth management advice to businesses, their owners and high net worth individuals.

Evolution, which recently advertised for two roles in the accounts team and another to join the payroll team, is continuously growing with a team of 56 including employees and members.

Managing partner Martin Barber said: "I am very proud of the firm's growth since its formation and it is always rewarding to see our team progress. There are very exciting times ahead for Evolution." Three key members from Evolution were recently promoted into senior roles.

Andrew Rowe was appointed as director, Angeline Stewart was promoted to audit and accounts manager and Chris McCann was promoted to IT manager.

The firm acts for a wide range of clients, from sole traders to multinationals, and offers a broad spectrum of services including personal tax returns and tax planning for high net-worth individuals.
