AIR INDIA BOARD CLEARS UNION RATIONALISATION DRIVE


(Indian Business Insight Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The board of directors of Air India has approved a proposal for reducing the number of recognised unions with an aim to facilitate efficient decision-making during negotiations between union representatives and the management. The airline intends to determine the unions that will be eligible to contest the elections, the constituencies, and finalise the electoral procedures. Air India is looking at reducing the number of recognised unions to two from 15 - one union for pilots and the other for all other employees.
